About Our Team of Orthopaedists

Piedmont Orthopaedic Associates (POA) is a team of orthopaedic surgeons and physicians who are committed to providing excellent orthopaedic care. Each orthopaedist at our Greenville offices offers patients throughout the Upstate, SC area advanced treatment options and dedicated, high-quality care.

Our orthopaedists are on the forefront of orthopaedic research and are constantly evaluating the most advanced tools and procedures to improve patient experiences. We offer on-site physical therapy with licensed physical therapists who are experienced in the treatment of orthopaedic disorders, as well as state-of-the-art MRI technology.

 

POA has a long history of providing quality care in the Greenville, SC community. Piedmont Orthopaedics was founded in 1949 by Dr. Frank Stelling and Dr. Warren White. The original office was on East North Street, before moving to Pendleton Street, and finally to one of our current offices on Grove Road. In 1994, Piedmont Orthopaedics merged with Orthopaedic Associates of Greenville, which brought Dr. James Jennings, Jr. and Dr. Christopher H. Kavolus to the practice. The name Piedmont Orthopaedic Associates was adopted by joining the names of both groups. In 2000, we added a second facility to our practice - an 18,000 square foot office located at 35 International Drive in Greenville. 

 

Looking to the future, we strive to remain an independent practice of specialized physicians committed to providing excellence in orthopaedic care in the Upstate, SC area. Our independent group practice setting has allowed our physicians to collaborate with each other, sharing their knowledge, expertise, and resources to provide top quality care for our patients.
